I invite you to read a tiny bit about our school. I invite you to explore this website. I invite you to ask others about the Valley View community. Most importantly, I invite you to visit our pre-school through 8th grade world.

Come with questions. Would I want to send my child here? Would she be happy and safe? Engaged in learning? Have opportunities to perform and feel special? Do adults visibly care? Teach to high standards? Listen to and honor children’s voices?

From our work with Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound to our animal habitat; from a focus on the arts to a multi-cultural, content-based curriculum; from our community gardens to student-led conferences, our school’s adult community has accepted the challenge to honor the creative nature of teaching and learning. It’s hard work because creativity is by definition “outside the box”. It’s hard work because the children’s questions aren’t in the teacher’s guide. It’s hard work because we strive to be so much better than we are. It’s hard work because Valley View children and adults are the authors.

I invite you to join in writing the story. Whether you enroll your children at Valley View or just spend a day with us; whether your support is your time, your caring, or simply a tax credit contribution; the impact will be lasting. The kids’ hugs today empower our work. The worlds we bequeath our great-grandchildren’s grandchildren empower the vision.
